I'm trying to find if my G-G-G-Granfather, James Walter
Lancaster, from around Izard and Independence counties. He
was born in 1846 so he would have been the right age to
serve. Ive been reading in some of my old Confederate Vet.
magazines and read about Texas Cavalry around Little Rock,
and north of there. In the Confederate roster the only man
to match my ancestor was in the 18th Tx Cav. under Darnell.

Did any Arkansas men join up with these Texans ?
