Another Alabamian who served in Arkansas unit ?

Have found a reference in Choctaw Co., Alabama pension applications I transcribed/abstracted in 1984 for a
Jas. B. Mortimore [Name uncertain; maybe Mortimere] who was an Ord. Sergeant in Co. B, 5th Regt Arkansas Cav.

Dated 30 May 1893 and signed.

Soldier indicates he either enlisted 31 Jany. 1863 at Murphy Boro [sic] in the State of Tenn. or that he was
[at that time] shot through the hip which to a very great degree has deprived him of the proper use of his leg and is very painful at times and wound is still a running soar [sic].

Trying to transcribe notes from 1984, so not sure if the Jan 1863 is his enlistment date or the date he was wounded.

Am uncertain at this time whether he was originally from Alabama or Arkansas.

Anything that would verify this soldier's correct name and his service would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Margaret
