French's Brigade doesn't appear to have been with Price's people in the works around Little Rock, instead, they were most like as you suggested, manning defenses along to lower Arkansas River -- probably Fort Pleasant. The 1st (McRae's), 2nd (Fagan's) and 4th (Parson's) Brigade were manning a series of works along the LR --> Memphis Military Road, between South Bend and Reed's Bridge, and shortly before the actual campaign began they were pulled much closer to Little Rock -- manning an inner line of works in the present day Dark Hollow and Skyline Drive areas of Little Rock. These brigade had pretty much had the snot knocked out of them at Helena the month before, and Price seems to have deliberately kept them out of the fight... they would not snap a cap during the campaign.

Tappan's 3rd Brigade had been sent down to NE Louisiana to try and help out with the Vicksburg situation. They arrived too late to do anything, and were ordered to hustle on back up to Pine Bluff around August 1. They did so, arriving at PB around August 14, and coming on back up to LR around the 20th of August. Shaler's 27th Arkansas was assigned to provost duties, and I'm still fishing to confrm that the 33rd and 38th were still with them... You've probably accounted for Hardy's Regiment (19th&24th)... I didn't think of the Fort Pleasant works...

Not much attention has been paid to the Confederate infantry in the campaign... it wa almost exclusively a cavalry affair for the Confederates save for committing Tappan in the fight along Bayou Fourche...
