OK, Fort Pleasent was abandon and "Lady Baxter" and other heavy guns were removed and sent back to Little Rock between July 27th and the first week of August. The heavy guns were assigned to Woodruffs command. But he left them in the Little Rock arsenal when the Confederate abandoned Little Rock and that is where Steele found them. That's how Woodruff knew how to find the Lady Baxter for the Brooks Baxter War. But that is another story.

There are i believe 5 letter of a Lieutenant Joe Farr of Comapny "I" 24th AR. Hardy's Regiment at the Butler Center. Brian Robinson there know which ones they are. There are two or three letter that deal with what they were doing in mid to late August 1863. They were definantely part of the Little Rock defensive force according to the Lieutenant as on August 27, 1863, he identifies his location by name, as being at Richwood. On Sept. 1 , he is talking about sending stuff to Brownsville Station. I have transcribed copies that Mark Kalkbrenner and I did of those letters, but in all the confusion of late I have no idea where they are at right now.

It could be that both Tappen and French brigade were in the same area.
