Does anyone know WHEN and WHERE this unit was formed. I have a copy of my GreatGrandfathers release as a prisoner of war. He was paroled at Vicksburg on July 4,1863, and was listed on the parole form as a member of McNally's.We have nor can find no trace of him prior to his being paroled. If we could find a beginning of this artillery battery maybe we can find more history on my GreatGrandfather. We know that he was born in Warren County Mississippi and moved to Midway, near New Blaine, at a place called Harkey's Valley which is in Central North East Ark.
