Re: Another Book Review

Bryan, There is a story that goes with that transcription of the Trans-Miss order book. What was missed when Carolynn obtain the material was the letter Book containing Marmadukes dispatches and letters to him. I have completed the transcription of all of the material which is formated in the same manner as the LO Book. Jim McGhee has seen this material and places the highest value upon them. In this series of letters are a number from various sub-organizations and scouting reports. It is valuable in so many ways. It starts with some nice set of spy reports prior to Marmadukes first raid and dies out around the middle of August 1864 with noticeable gaps missing during such months as January and March 1864. There are documents duplicated from the LO book but with different times and dates noted. I recently had a mild stroke which slowed me down somewhat. I now plan to go ahead and forward to Carolynn in a few weeks the large volumne I have completed. I am still debating on whether or not to include some maps to give a clearer picture of what is going on. I want to emphasize that we have some new material in this work for researchers.

Finally if anyone is interested I can forward specific monthly files from my word document collection which are broken down into monthly files.
