Terry, the thought of retirement scared me to death -- not just the financial side of it, but the thought of the boredom, being an unproductive nobody, etc. It turned out to be the best thing I ever did. It's a big adjustment, financially, of course, but I love having the time to devote to Civil War research -- boredom is not a problem! Also, after 32 years of travelling for Uncle Sam all over the world, it was nice to get reacquainted with my devoted wife. She's become my best friend.

Anyway, Terry, I don't want to abuse the privilege, but I'd sure like to see three months worth of the Marmaduke docs covering the period December 1862 to January and February 1863. If that's a bit too much, then January 1863 I guess would be the most important month. I'm particularly interested in cavalry scouting activities immediately before and after the Battle of Arkansas Post.

Thanks, Terry.
