There are several camps of the discriptions that you provide that are referred to in the Officials Records all during the War. The Little Rock to Pine Bluff road was heavily traveled by both side throughout the war and the march depending upon the speed of the march always required a stop on at least one night and sometimes two.

So yes there were many camps which were used frenquently. A lot of these camps were near Redfield since this was also a popular steamboat landing and was about halfway between the two larger towns.
