George L. Davis was a member of Co. F, 45th Regiment Arkansas Militia, when the war started. This regiment was called into service by the Governor for thirty days (November 26 to December 20, 1861) to round up men suspected of being Union sympathizers. Davis was one of the militia men called up for service. Later in the war, he enlisted in Co. K, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, U.S. Volunteers, at Wiley’s Cove, Arkansas, on February 1, 1864, for three years. He was discharged on a surgeon’s certificate of disability at Lewisburg, Arkansas, on May 23, 1865. At the time he was mustered into Federal service, he was described as a farmer, age 45, born in Knox County, Tennessee, eyes blue, hair gray, complexion fair, height 5'8". He applied for a U.S. veteran's pension in 1882.

Richard Davis enlisted in Co. K, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, U.S. Volunteers, at Wiley’s Cove, Arkansas, on February 1, 1864, for three years. He was honorably discharged at Lewisburg, Arkansas, on June 30, 1865. At the time he was mustered into Federal service, he was described as a farmer, age 18, born in Searcy County, Arkansas, eyes blue, hair light, complexion light, height 5'6". He applied for a U.S. veteran's pension in 1880.

William Davis enlisted in Co. K, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, U.S. Volunteers, at Wiley’s Cove, Arkansas, on February 1, 1864, for three years. He was honorably discharged at Lewisburg, Arkansas, on May 22, 1865. At the time he was mustered into Federal service, he was described as a farmer, age 25, born in Hickman County, Tennessee, eyes blue, hair light, complexion fair, height 5'9". He applied for a U.S. veteran's pension in 1890. This man had previously served in the Confederate army. He enlisted in Co. D, 14th Arkansas Infantry, at Yellville, Arkansas, on July 17, 1861, for twelve months. He was dropped from the regimental rolls on June 6, 1862, with the remarks: "Left sick west of the Mississippi River." He was one of several soldiers who were too ill to make the march to Mississippi when the regiment was ordered there, and were left behind. Very few of these men ever rejoined the regiment.

Wesley Davis enlisted in Co. M, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, U.S. Volunteers, at Lewisburg, Arkansas, on July 18, 1864, for three years. He was honorably discharged at Lewisburg, Arkansas, on June 30, 1865. At the time he was mustered into Federal service, he was described as a farmer, age 18, born in Searcy County, Arkansas, eyes blue, hair dark, complexion dark, height 5'8". He applied for a U.S. veteran's pension in 1890.
