I post on this board. And like you, I am no expert on the War between the State. I post and read this board for several reasons.

1) To further my knowledge of the War by learning from those who have studied others area of research that I have not. Again as you have said Bryan, the study of the entire war in too grand and large for one person to reasonably do justice.

2) To aid others researchers by contributing information gained by my studies. Thereby creating a better understanding of these events that shaped this State and our Nation.

3) To aid the curious and those less informed than the serious researcher in understanding the sacrifice of their ancestor. To as much as possible dispel the myths and mysteries, created in popular history, that sometimes was used for personal reasons and/or political purposes, then and now.

4) To preserve what is left of the historic sites within this state, by creating a greater awareness of these places and their importance.

Many people, like you Bryan, have contributed to the expansion of my knowledge and given me leads for my research. I hope that I have expanded others knowledge in the same ways.

This board is one of the best of it type on the Internet. In addition, I feel it is that way because so many of our "Experts" give of their knowledge so freely.

Far too little of the history of that Era in Arkansas has been written. Because it usually is not profitable to be publish. Therefore, it comes down to us the "Nuts and Bolts" researchers to do that and help others.

Yes Bryan, I agree there is no such thing as a "Stupid Question" because every question asked begs for information that the person asking the question does not have.

Unfortunately, we may not be able to answer all the questions even the simplest.
