You know I have one of those "traitors" in my heritage with Tumlinson's Cav/39th Arkansas. I guess that is why I am so drawn to Prairie Grove. The 39th under Hawthorne retook the cannon's at Prairie Grove (Hindman's Report dated December 25, 1861). Adam's Regiment was just to the right of Fagan's Brigade, the hottest place on the field, the battle was seesawed up and down that hill. Attack and counterattack.
I eagerly await Mr. Shea's book as the Battle of Prairie Grove is personal to me for some reason, I can't explain.
