Hello.
Interesting information. I know Doc Rayburn was a small built person and could even pass himself off as a woman which made it very difficult to recognize and or capture.
I know Doc Rayburn supposedly died and is buried perhaps around DeValls Bluff.
I have heard folks debate about where he was buried. It seems that some knew, but it was on private property and no one was allowed in.
I live in the area near Brownsville at Lonoke so that story has bounced around a lot.
If the land owner would allow it and someone would do the removal, I have a place he could be reburied. Then a marker could be placed on his grave and a proper CSA burial would be given to the man.
Just a dream but one that could be managed if people would work together.
Linda
