Doc Rayburn's story would surely make a wonderful movie if you were interested in doing such. Lots of adventure, daring deeds, etc.
I feel there was a lot that went on in Arkansas during those times. So little of it is actually documented with the exception of the Union records.
You do know that Governor Pettus of Mississippi was hiding out in the area in the same general time frame, don't you? He also died and is buried over close to Pine Bluff is what I have been told in the past.
I am so interested I usually get bits and pieces of everything like this.
