Very good post!. I agree. One should be proud of an ancestor's efforts no matter what the conditions of his service. True the ANV got most of the glory. But everyone should doff their hats and reflect on the courage of the Army of Tennessee at Franklin!! Contrary to popular opinion and the biased writings of the war's chroniclers, there were others who fought the war besides the ANV! My paternal ancestors were in the 37th Virginia which was brigaded with the 3rd Arkansas in the Army of the Northwest. My maternal ancestors were in the Army of Tennessee. Both deserved to be honored.
