I'd love to hear what you have discovered about James Fitzwilliam. He was born in Wexford, Ireland and came to USA via New Orleans Jan 1, 1851. His father died on the ship Melicete on the way to America. His mother & several siblings stayed in Louisiana (Milikens Bend & New Orleans), James soon headed up to Arkansas. After the war, he relocated to Bastrop Texas because the federal court confiscated his property in Ft Smith. He spent the remainder of his life there.

FYI The correct spelling is FITZWILLIAM.....no "S". However, the name is often mispelled.
