Thanks a lot, Bryan. FYI Captain James T. Stewart (or Stuart), Co.F, 3rd Regiment, later served as 1st Sergeant of 1st Co. H, 1st Cherokee Mounted Volunteers, and Captain of 2nd Co. K, and Captain Hugh Lemuel Tinnin (or Tinnen), Co. C, 4th Regiment, commanded 2nd Co. A, 1st Cherokee Mounted Volunteers. Tinnin was from Maysville, and I am inclined to think that his State Troops company was formed in Benton County instead of Washington. I speculate also that Captain J. W. Johnson, Co. G, 4th Regiment, might be the same as Captain George W. Johnson, 1st Co. I, 1st Cherokee Mounted Volunteers. Captain Daniel R. McKissick, Co. F, 1st Regiment, was 1st Lt. of 1st Co. H, 1st Cherokee Mounted Volunteers.
