Some of the ones over in Stone Co are also on slopes etc. Some of the old family cabins were on the edge of benches along a bluff and rock fences were built all over. There were few to no pitched battles in that area. You would be surprised to see where folks built their homes up in the hills there. I have roamed all over that area in Stone Co just east and along the river and there are numerous stone walls etc. I deer hunt on the edge of the mountain and there is a stone wall that runs right down the mountain and I have sat on it many times. The slope donw the mountain is very, very steep but they still piled up those rocks and made the fence. So it is still my opinion that it is probably a rock wall even though no pasture or flat land is close by.
