These days, when I say my nightly "God bless mommy and daddy" prayer, I add Danny, Doyle and Jim to the list.

I'm working up some posts on the agonizingly convoluted histories of the 19th Arkansas Regiments, and I am realizing how much I owe to the research done by Danny Odom and Doyle Taylor in that early 1862 black hole period. Those guys are like demented bloodhounds the way they go after every snippet of information. Over the past few months, I have piecing together the information they've uncovered, with the research I've done, and am finally making some sense out of Dawson's 19th Arkansas in particular. Halleluja!

If it wasn't for Jim Martin's message board, our three separate lines of research would never have come together.
