David, after I posted this sketch of the 3rd Confederate Regiment, I felt like kicking myself for failing to mention in my earlier sketches on the 3rd Arkansas Regiments that Marmaduke's 3rd Confederate Regiment was, and is, sometimes misidentified as the 3rd Arkansas Regiment.

It's no wonder that newcomers to the study of Arkansas in the Civil War are often confounded by the bizarre world of Arkansas regimental designations.
