The NPS, Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System, lists 185 men by the name of Scott to serve in Arkansas units. You will need to know the following:

1. First name of Mr. Scott
2. Location of his residence at the time of the war( units were usually raised by county)

After ascertaining these two things, find out which units were raised in his home county. Check the rosters of those units. With this you can probably put together the information you seek. Good luck.
