Help with Albert Beal's CSA service

I'm pulling my hair out here. My gr gr grandmother wrote on her widow's application that her husband, Albert Beal, served in "Company F?, 3rd Cherokee Batallion, under Col. Bryant and Major Fields". I have been 'brick-walled' here for a few years. A cousin says that he thinks it was an Arkansas company. I do not see a listing for this battalion in Arkansas or Oklahoma. However there are 2 Fields and a Bryan in the Indian CSA listings. Is anyone familiar with this group? Were they out of Arkansas or Okl Territory? My gr gr grandparents lived in Benton Co., Ark., a stone's throw away from Oklahoma. Help!
