My ggranduncle,Farley Brookshire,enlisted in McRae's Regiment,Arkansas Infantry on Feb.20,1861 at Camp Benjamin.I have a copy of his service papers which are all Muster Rolls except the last two pages.In 1862,the paper says he is in Hobb's Regiment.One paper in 1863 says it is Northwest 15 Regiment,Arkansas Infantry.The next to last paper is a roll of Prisioners of War"paroled at Vicksburg,Miss on July 8,1863,being captured July 4".The last page is a copy of the oath they had to sign for parole.The thing is,after this,he just completely disappears,no trace of him in census records or family records.I"ve wondered if he joined forces with other groups and kept fighting and maybe died in battle in another state.I've not been able to find anything else.Thanks for any help you might give me to keep looking
