Surgeon in Cabell's Brigade, Gunter's Battalion

I have a copy of Widow's CSA Pension Application in which states her husband, Dr. John Parker, served as a surgeon/assistant surgeon attached to Cabell's Brigade, Gunter's Battalion. John Parker was at the Battle of Mark's Mill and possibly Camden. W. H. Hambleton gave deposition that he and John Parker served together and that after leaving Camden ended up in Lewisville, AR by way of Washington, AR. Mr. Hambleton was given a pass to the hospital by John Parker at this time and while he was in the hospital the battalion left for the northern part of the state and into Missouri with Price commanding. Mr. Hambleton states he was in Ashmore's Company.

So far I have not been able to verify any of this information. I do know John Parker was living in Clark Co., AR in 1860 and ended up in Little River Co., AR either just before enlisting or shortly after the war.

Thanks,
Michelle
