Thought I saw where Baxter served briefly under Col Solon Borland in Pochantos, Ark in 1861 while the 3rd Ark Cav, CSA was there. During The Brooks- Baxter War, Baxter went to St Johns' College and was protected there by Col Oliver Crosby Gray (former 3rd Ark Cav, Company A comander) arming his students.
