In Response To: DeValls Bluff Union Hospital ()

Hello. I believe in the past I was told that all the Union soldiers were moved to large National Cemeteries after the war. Where they would have moved him to, I do not know.
I do know that the ones at Lonoke area which is about 25 miles west of DeValls Bluff were supposedly moved to Little Rock. Yours may have been sent there also.
I am a member of the Lonoke County Museum and we-especially me- are quite interested in anything to do with the war.
If you will write to LonokeCoMuseum@Yahoo.com, attention Sherryl, the lady may-just may be able to help you. Be sure to send a current mailing address as she does not do e-mail. She has some contacts who are up on things of that nature.
I am assuming that the Gerdes site would be of great help to you on learning about the 4th Arkansas. Was he ever Confederate?
Good luck in your search.
