The bulk of the 6th Texas Cavalry was not captured at Helena, AR. I'm not sure where that came information came from but the 6th Texas Cav. crossed the Mississippi River in the spring/early summer of 1862 and went on to servedin the Army of Tennessee as part of Sul Ross's cavalry brigade.
