Hi Jim, yes, it's William Johnson's records. One page in particular where he is answering questions from the Bureau of Pensions (about halfway through the stapled set). Question No. 2: when, where and by whom were you married? He answers Aug. 30, 1855 but the location is washed out. Question No. 3: What record of marriage exists? He answers Marshall Ark. if ??? Question No. 5: Have you any children living? Pls. state name and date of birth. He answers Robert, April ???, someone else, second line Josephine, Jan or June, then washed out. Two lines down he writes "My wife died--washed out here but I hope it gives the date and location. Next line says "P.O. Independence, then rest washed out.

A second page called "Declaration of a Widow for Accrued Pension" has his second wife answering questions.
Line states "That she was married under the name of (blank or washed out) to said pensioner at Mountain View on the (blank or washed out) day of (blank or washed out) 18__, ....that the said pensioner had previously been married to "Martha, died in (washed out).

Everything else I can manage. I had heard that one can hold a page over a bright lightbulb and sometimes you can see the words come through.

Thanks, Jim
