Joe, The Sharp County Journal (Sharp County Arkansas)published a book "A History of Calamine" by Frank Thompson in Jan 1982. It contains a very short paragraph in the Civil War era section, that confirms that "Jay-Hawkers, Bush-whackers and scouting parties raided, robbed and plundered the countryside."
