I am currently researching this.
The problem is some say it was complete between DeVall's Bluff and Little Rock and some say otherwise.
My point is that we would just like to know for a fact how it was.
As one of the museum members said this morning, there are 219 books, etc. about this area including letters that the Texas soldiers wrote about why would anyone want to fight over this area.
I did view a portion of the maps, #15, from the National Archives which is dated July 1865. It shows the area near the old settlement of Brownsville which did not lend any help to the cause.
The museum is hoping to purchase a complete set of those maps from the National Archives in the near future. To be honest most of our stuff is donated so if anyone wishes to help, it would be appreciated.
I have also been reading some official reports as it speaks of this area. The Jan. 1865 report that I have read written by a Union offier speaks of marching through water, horses swimming to cross rivers, horses drowning, etc. while out on patrol.
