Re: Letter from Camp Hope
In Response To: Letter from Camp Hope ()

I keep trying to post a couple of letters written by a member of Hawthorne/Cocke's 6th Trans Miss Inf, from camps in Prairie County and Des Arc in Sept and Oct of 1862. When I try to include them it won't allow it saying the language is inappropriate etc. Any way, I have 2 letters edited and cited as well as 8 more from a soldier in 30/25th Ark, written during 1862 as the regiment made its way thru NE Ark to Corinth. For any one interested, I can email them as an attachment. I would like to post the stationary from the Elrod letters and let some of you enjoy the artwork.... looks to be a soldier enjoying a bathtub with what looks like a "shower" stream flowing into the tub. It also details the sinking of the Okaw Belle, of which a number of soldiers drowned in the White River.
