Spy in Calhoun County

I am attempting to find more information on George W Harbour (Harber) He was a member of Co. K 33rd Infantry. According to people that my dad spoke to several years ago, Harbour traited and began spying for the north. Late in the war or at the conclusion, as he was coming home or as he was sneaking in to see his family, local men ambushed him and killed him. Becuse he was identified as a traitor, the local people would not allow him to be buried in a cemetery. He is buried on my Dad's farm between Bearden and Thornton. along with his wife and young daughter.

Does anyone know any more details?

Thanks.
