Re: Location of 11th and 17th in August, 1863

Thanks for the response. I did not realize the regiment had ceased to exist by the fall of 1863. What I would still like to have advice on, however, is when Edward was sick in the hospital, since there is a note on the muster roll stating this. In April? If they had all been surrendered in July, it is obviously unlikely that he would be listed as in the hospital in August, correct? Is there a list of the men who were parolled or surrendered at Port Hudson in records somewhere?
