As noted, the 11th & 17th was kind of splintered at the time... The bulk of the regiment was surrendered with the PH garrison, but others not caught at Port Hudson soldiered on back home in SW Arkansas until the end of the War. If I remember right, they were manning Fort Desperate in the PH defenses.
