In Response To: Shilo's wounded ()

James Lee McDonough on page 214 of his book "Shiloh-in Hell before Night" wrote "The battered Confederate army finally struggled back to Corinth in the pouring rain. Upon reaching the small northeast Mississippi town, the army set up makeshift hospitals at every likely location-in schools, churches, hotels, even homes. Still there was not enough room for all the wounded. Numbering more than 8,000, they were in some cases simply stretched out in the halls or on porches and sidewalks."
