the Five Guthrie boys and the Civil War

Hello. I am interested in finding military service for the Guthrie males out of what is now called White County, Arkansas.
I just received all of their names yesterday. They were the children of
Jospeh and Susannah Guthrie out of the Spartanburg District of South Carolina who floated the White River into central Arkansas, probably in 1836.
They were brothers to Mary called Polly Price(Mrs. Fielding Price) who was my ggg grandmother. Their other sister Martha was also married to Joseph R. Price.
Their names were: Nelson (b. about 1825, S. Carolina ), Edmund (b. Aug. 1832, S. Carolina), Frederick (b. about 1836 in Arkansas, d. 1865-no one knows why or where), Fielding (b. 1838 in Arkansas) and Michael, b. about 1840 in Arkansas.
Nelson Guthrie was probably in some militia unit. But the rest all appear to me that they could have served somewhere.
I am thinking that someone of this bunch was probably in the 36th Arkansas. They were closely related in more ways than one with the Prices so where a Price was, you probably would find a Guthrie.
Any information or suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks.
Linda
