I'm looking for an ancestor,Jesse Rice Elrod,born 1823 in Hartwell,Hart County,GA. His regiment was 11th Infantry,Arkansas,company B. He was listed as a private,possibly a chaplain. It's been passed down throught the family that he was wounded in Vicksburg,taken prisoner,and died in the hospital. His body was sent home to be buried in Dardanville,Yell County,Arkansas. May have died between 1863-1864. Anyone who had info,I'd appreciate getting it.I don't know what I'm doing here,but I'd like to get military documents of any kind on him.
