Hello Kenneth,

Most likely the 13th.was either an error of memory or transcription.Of course I copied the account verbatim.I should also be a little more specific.Hendley and Powell did participate in the engagement but most probably recounted what they had heard,,,"Tis Said" regards the fate of the captured negro soldiers.Certainly this would not have been difficult as the 9th Batt.was brigaded with Col.Griffith's regiment.
