In the Official Records, Series 1 - vol 48 - part 1 it states that part of Jeff's men were surrendered at Wittsburg on the St Francis River on May 5 1865 and the major portion of Jeff's men were surrendered at Jacksonport on June 5 1865. Aggregate of men and Officers from both places was 7,454. They were granted the same terms as Gen Lee. The men were to bring in all public property such as arms and accouterments, ammunition, transportation, horses etc to be turned over to the U. S. authorities. They were allowed to keep their private property. It says each man was to be given a certificate.
Also states the U.S. Army supplied 28,000 rations for the Confederates while the surrender was going on as they were destitute of food. So I took it from this that they were there.
