In addition to the Shoemaker brothers AS/Asberry Shoemaker and AM/Ambrose Shoemaker mentioned in earlier threads on this board, there is a third Shoemaker on the roster of Co A, 37th Arkansas Infantry. Unlike the AS and AM entries, the third gives no information.

It reads:

SHOEMAKER, E.M. Ref: filed with E.M. Shoemaker.

I would like to learn what this means, and if more information is available about this man--especially whether there may be an "alternate name". There is at least a possibility that he is another brother in the same Shoemaker family. My information calls the next brother Lee M.
