I appreciate the thoughtfulness and your supportive words. It's interesting, that the folks doing the upgrades of the WebBBS software, no longer sell the product, but rely on "donations" from their users. In our case, here on the message boards, donations are certainly welcome, but not a prerequisite to participate in our discussions. Honestly, I'd prefer for the site to generate its income needs for maintenance, growth and improvements by sales of books and military records. I'll be doing some things soon (I keep saying that...) that will make it easier for our visitors and contributors to purchase books and military records, not just for the Civil War, but for all periods from Colonial Times through WWI.

Ideally, if people could support the message boards by doing things they are already doing, namely, online book buying, purchasing military records and documents, without additional cost to them, that's how I'd like to operate these sites.
