Stephen and everyone,

This is not a criticism. I am asking for my benefit and to help me understand how to more effectively layout these sites to make announcements and to promote our authors' books, the military records research service and other contributors' Civil War related products.

The advertising text box, just to the right of the Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board graphic is provide for announcements and other offerings. Sadly, I've have had an announcement for four or five days about the passing of Howard Madaus with a link to his obituary in this text box. Your response to Bryan's posting indicates you have not seen or noticed this posting on this or any of the other thirty-seven (37) message boards. May I get some input from you and others, what might be a more effective way to place or present this information, so people will be more likely to see it?

I'd really appreciate your collective suggestions.
