I may have found him, Linda. The roster of the Clear Lake Independent Guards lists a Pvt. N. W. Morris, age 17, enrolled at Clear Lake, Arkansas, June 1, 1863, by Capt. B. B. Barnes. Also listed is Pvt. James T. Morris.

The Clear Lake Independent Guards, as the name implies, was an independent home guard company organized in May and June 1863 for the defense of Clear Lake Township in Prairie (now Lonoke) County.
