Hawthorn's Brigade-JAJ Shoemaker

James Andrew Jackson Shoemaker was born in AL, about 1846, and was with his family in Calhoun AR in 1860. I believe he enlisted in AR, and his pension application was MS. He said there that he was in Co A, Hawthorn Brigade, Bell's. I have not found him on the roster of Bell's Regiment.

I have two other Shoemakers who were in Bell's and were captured at Arkansas Post. This man ended up in TX according to my information, and again, I cannot find record of the unit in Texas.

Help to sort this out would be much appreciated.
