Well I guess we have to go with 33rd Iowa capturing two since they were turned in with that provenance from the AG of Iowa and COL Mackey. However, can we ever be 100% sure?? The one taken by the 33rd Mo was stated that he (LTC HEath) felt it was Hawthorne's but once again how to be 100% sure. My only reason for thinking the Polk might have been Hawthorne's is that he too served east of the river, as did DObbins and saw these flags.
