In January, Bryan Howerton posted the dates and locations where Col. Hills Regiment companies were mustered into service. I did order and receive Kate Jones' Widow Pension File. The Proof of Service was signed by a justice of the peace who stated he knew Kate and her husband J. N. Jones (James N. Jones) for the past 50 years and that James N. Jones belonged to Hills Ark. Cav. Vols. That he served from 1862 until the close of the war. The information Bryan sent had the dates of Col. Hill's Regiment from January 1, 1863 until September 15, 1863. I would still like to find where he signed up or where he was mustered into service. Do you have any other suggestions on where I might look?
