Re: Hawthorn's Brigade

Was there in fact, a Hawthorn's Brigade, in Bell's Regiment? Did it surrender at Louiston TX in 1864?

I believe in 1862, Bell's became the 37th Arkansas Infantry.
This man enlisted in 1863, Drew Co AR. There was a Company A in Bell's. That part of my info fits.

If James Andrew Jackson Shoemaker wasn't listed in Company A Bell's, I'm wondering if Hawthorn's Brigade, and a Capt. Thompson, are a different unit than Bell's.
