Thomas A. Cude enlisted in Co. H, 26th Arkansas Infantry, at Clarksville, Arkansas, on June 13, 1862; and was mustered into service as first lieutenant at Fort Hindman, DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, on July 1, 1862, for three years or the war. He appears on a report of Confederate officers on duty in the Trans-Mississippi Department, dated September 30, 1863; remarks, age 30, born in Tennessee. He was killed in action at Jenkins’ Ferry on April 30, 1864.

Before the war he was a captain in the Johnson County militia (10th Regiment Arkansas Militia).
