My name is Susan Lloyd , I am trying to find out some information on the following Unit: Co. A, Monroe's Regiment confederate Infantry of arkansas, Cabell's Army. I have a pension application of my 3rd great grandmother: Axie Hines Jackson, widow of Leonard Jackson.
she drew a Widow's pension in Scott Co, AR from about 1906 to 1915 when she removed to Porum, Muskogee Co, OK , she re-applied for her pension the on July 3, 1915, it was first denied on Oct 17, 1915 and then, I think, approve on July 8, 1916. In a comment made from the Adj General's office they are stating that they have no record of a Leonard Jackson being a POW of this unit.
She must have been approved or she wouldn't have been able to draw the pension. Is there any records of the unit I have listed above? I have scoured the net looking for some info but to my chagrin , haven't found much. Any help you can give me would be most appreciated.
