Bryan, I think that's a great idea you have for posting the Indigent Families!

And, I have finally, to my satisfaction, solved the puzzle of the Co. D, 26th Infantry first cousins,James Leonard and James Leon Ashcraft's identities. This, too, was with your helping me understand situations, locations, time-frames and - in particular -the careless way the U.S. War Dept. compiled Confederate records.

I'd fill up this page trying to relate how I figured out Leonard died April 7, 1863 and Leon died the latter part of October 1863, but I wanted you to know I couldn't have done it without your help and guidance. Thanks again!
