The Web page you posted was very interesting.
The odometer invented by the Mormons said 360 revolutions made a mile. That would make the circumference of Clayton's wheel about 14.6 feet if my cogitations are right. Different wagons may have had different size wheels and also the front and back wheels were sometimes different size.
The Union Army must have adopted a standard size for their odometer.
I would like to see a picture of the Army odometer.
